This is GoNow

24 May This is GoNow

Today, we welcomed our GoNow students to Durham. 158 of them.

158 students who have committed to make Him known locally, nationally and internationally through three different GoNow programs: City Project, Second City, and City Life. Here’s the breakdown:

  • 124 students will participate in City Project, where students will spend 1 week working among unreached people groups in NYC, 5 weeks in Durham receiving discipleship training and serving with local organizations, and 2 weeks at one of 11 different international locations partnering with church planters across the world.
  • 23 students will participate in Second City, where five teams will travel to five different cities across the world and spend 7 weeks partnering with  church planters, growing, serving and getting a taste of what it’s like to serve overseas long-term.
  • 11 students will participate in City Life, where they will spend the summer learning what it means to connect their faith to their work in the marketplace by participating in internships in two different cities and receiving training from older believers who are leveraging their professional lives for the mission of God.

124 + 23 + 11 = 158.

158 students who have put their yes on the table and are letting God put it on the map as they scatter to  13 different national and international cities over the course of the next few days.

158 students who will spend the next 8 weeks learning, growing and seeing more of Jesus.

158 students who are declaring with their lives to the world that Jesus is worthy of receiving honor and glory from the here in RDU to the ends of the earth.

This is GoNow. And for the next 8 weeks, this is where we’ll be on this blog, Instagram and Twitter, following along as these students go to the nations for the glory of God. So please join us, pray with us, and “go” with us, as 158 people go out so that the almighty God of the universe might receive more of the glory due to his name!

Thanks for writing the blog. I look forward to seeing all that God does this summer.
